I just read a little bit of Job again today, and then I went looking for commentaries and stuff on it. Man. What has happened to me? I hate commentaries!
The opening of Job 1 says Job was blameless and upright, in the KJV it says perfect. So I look at Wesley’s commentary, and what does it say? Well, Job wasn’t perfect but he was a good man. How silly. Sometimes I think commentaries are written just like great bands’ second albums. They need to fulfill a contract or fill space, so they have to write something about a certain verse or a certain passage. Goodness
