This was an interview with Dallas Jenkins on the set of The Chosen. I like The Chosen and what they’re doing with it, so it was fun to see them walking around the set while he talked about how they are pulling the whole thing off.

The director as the immune system of the culture is brilliant. This goes for managers. As the manager goes, so goes the office. If the manager is a gossip, everybody is going to hide their personal lives. If the manager is generous, then the office is going to show generosity to one another.

This attitude and outlook of “who am I going to serve today” is the best way to go to work. Not “what do I need to get done,” although that might sound like the same question.

At work, every day, we are surrounded by people or we are doing stuff that affects other people. Communicating and interacting are some of the best ways to serve others in that spot. Doing it right is a good way to serve them too.
