Here are my notes from 9/9/2012 at Christian Fellowship Church. Dale Beaver is continuing his series on Mealin’ With Jesus. The funny thing about this sermon was that Dale pulled some quotes from some etiquette guide to table manners.

The High Priesthood at Exodus Church for Bloomington
I got to speak this past weekend at Exodus Church For Bloomington and it was a lot of fun. Below you’ll see my slides if you want to click through them, and you can listen to the audio from their website here. Just click on “Royal Priesthood” by Dan Sullivan. I do some background on […]
Galatians 6 and Excitement About the New Building
The other night I got to announce that the Evansville Rescue Mission is moving to the old VA clinic on 500 E. … There were a lot of questions, but then I got to preach for a few minutes to finish my mini-series on Galatians.
With vs. Like – The Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit
As I read through the book of Acts and I’m working on my @iamstpaul project there is never any question that God is WITH Paul. (except for maybe when he’s getting stoned to death–but right after that there was no question!) I think that’s also how God knew that King David would “accomplish everything I want him to do” because He knew David wanted to be WITH God and in God’s presence more than he wanted to seek equality with God.

Global Leadership Summit 2011, Part 5: Steven Furtick
His talk was really good. After a day of some religious and worldly wisdom it was really good to focus on the fact that the most important things in this world can only be done by God. It’s worth it to read this passage from 2 Kings 3
The institution of the last supper
I’m thinking more and more that communion wasn’t ever intended to be what we’ve turned it into. Or what the guys in the middle ages turned it into. I’m not sure any Jewish person would refer to the institution of Passover any more than we would call Thanksgiving an institution. What if going to church […]
The Never Underesteeming, Always Luring Teachings of Jesus
John 13:26-28 26 Jesus answered, ‚ÄúIt is he to whom I will give this morsel of bread when I have dipped it.‚Äù So when he had dipped the morsel, he gave it to Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot. 27 Then after he had taken the morsel, Satan entered into him. Jesus said to him, […]
No More Hollywood Sermons
Last weekend I taught 3 times at a Jr. high – Sr. High retreat. there were 5 nazarene churches, so there were about 50 kids and 50 leaders. It was a very good time. I‚Äôm learning that I don‚Äôt have to have a big finish when I teach. The big finish, the big closing statement, […]
