Where “On Earth as it is in Heaven” happens. I just wrote this in a BIble Study workbook to answer the question “What is the Kingdom of God?”
7 years of blogging!
I saw some stuff lately about blogging advice and how to craft your posts and how to phrase a catchy headline and I thought, “I’ve been blogging for a long time and not worried about that stuff!” … To all of you that have been around over the course of the last 7.5 years, thanks.
Reading through Philippians 3
I’m working through the Lifetime Guarantee study book with some guys at the Rescue Mission and I made this for myself to think about the things that Paul boasted in.
… I’m not sure what I think about this poplet business, but it helps me to breakdown these ancient boasts and think of them in more modern terms.
With vs. Like – The Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit
As I read through the book of Acts and I’m working on my @iamstpaul project there is never any question that God is WITH Paul. (except for maybe when he’s getting stoned to death–but right after that there was no question!) I think that’s also how God knew that King David would “accomplish everything I want him to do” because He knew David wanted to be WITH God and in God’s presence more than he wanted to seek equality with God.
God's Ownership is Near
royal power, kingship, dominion, rule/ not to be confused with an actual kingdom but rather the right or authority to rule over a kingdom – G0932 Definition on the Bible Web App .
…Change the way you think, because God is about to buy the world back from Satan, and then He’ll own it.
Car Sermon on Joel
Here is an old video I came across on thoughts on fellowship offerings in Joel.
Drawing Closer to God
No The word phobos is used in a lot of places like “They were afraid of the Jews” but in a lot of other places it is used to describe the feeling people had after an amazing miracle had just happened. … And walking in reverence for it’s husband and by being drawn near and closer to God by the Holy Spirit, the church multiplied.
Global Leadership Summit 2011, Part 5: Steven Furtick
His talk was really good. After a day of some religious and worldly wisdom it was really good to focus on the fact that the most important things in this world can only be done by God. It’s worth it to read this passage from 2 Kings 3
Global Leadership Summit 2011, Part 3: Brenda Salter McNeil
When you go among people that are so radically off from you culturally, it takes a lot of work to figure out what discipleship looks like in their culture. (personally I’m still trying to figure this out in American culture!)
…This was a great moment and I think I would have done well to just go and pray for a bit, or have all of us pray for a bit, but conferences are what they are, and when McNeil was done they launched some cheesy video advertising something.
Equal Connections of Preachers and Waiters
In Acts 6, there begins to be a controversy over dividing up the money to care for the widows. The Greek widows aren’t getting equal care to the Jewish widows. Acts 6:2 So the twelves called the whole group of the disciples together and said, “It is not right for us to neglect the word […]
