Open-Minded in Berea

Dan Sullivan · February 24, 2012 ·

These Jews were more open-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they eagerly received the message, examining the scriptures carefully every day to see if these things were so. Therefore many of them believed, along with quite a few prominent Greek women and men. (Acts 17:11, 12 NET)

It’s pretty awesome that the people that believed are the ones that heard, considered, and studied the scriptures to see if what Paul said was true. Remember they are reading what we now call the Old Testament. They didn’t have the scriptures that we now have. Whatever it was that Paul told them about Jesus, they found proof of it in the scriptures.
