God puts Adam into a deep sleep, tears flesh out of him. God makes a woman. Adam wakes up and God presents to Adam his bride. His companion.
God puts Abraham into a deep sleep. Walks between the animal offerings that Abraham has cut in half. God makes a covenant with Himself regarding Abraham. Abraham wakes up and God presents Himself to Abraham as his covenantal-friend/companion.
God’s creators kill Jesus dead. His own flesh is torn. God’s own covenant is sealed and completed. Jesus rises from the dead to send His indwelling Spirit into His church. His companion.
